Don will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend Chris his daughter Kelli Crisp (Tim), grandsons Jeff, Andy and Brad, his brothers David (Linda), Brent (family), Martin, his sister Marilyn Jagow (Daryl), many cousins, nieces and nephews and Aunty Betty Annand.

Don was born in Comox, a member of the Piercy pioneer family and has always been involved with family and friends. Don grew-up in Courtenay and always kept his ties there. ?He chose to work in the forest industry which took him and his family to Vernon Camp, Port Eliza, Naka Creek, Roderick Island and Gold River where he was residing at the time of his death.

Don always enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, golfing and fixing things.? He was an avid fan for all his grandsons’ hockey, lacrosse, soccer and everything else they wanted to try.

November 3rd 2005 Don got a lung transplant that gave him a second chance and he had a few very good months but it was not to last.? He always was optimistic and accepting of everything that was thrown his way.? He bravely fought through to the very end with good spirits.?? He was greatly cared for and supported by the lung transplant doctors, nurses and other transplant recipients.

Don was predeceased by his mother Myrtle, father Gordon, sister Brenda (Barry) Pickwich and his precious daughter Jacki.

There will be a Celebration of Don’s life at the Courtenay Coast Westerly Hotel in the Courtenay and Comox Rooms on November 18th 2006 at 12:30 p.m., Fred Massey will be officiating.

Memorial tributes can be made to BC Transplant Society, Lung Transplant Program, 555 West 12th Avenue, West Power, 3rd Floor, Vancouver, BC V5Z 3X7.
