MACDONALD, Donald H. (Mac)

March 31 1930 ~ July 12, 2010


He was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia and passed away suddenly at home, at the age of 80. He will be missed very much.


He is survived by daughter Christine (Shane) and son Rob, grandchildren Dan, Keisha, Quinn, Sterling, Kolby, Jia, Keosha, Tia & Jessie and great-grandchildren Emma, Brandon, Aide and Cayden.


"Mac" served in the RCAF and Canadian Armed Forces for 29 years, from 1951 to 1980. He has been an Ordinary Member of the Legion, Branch 17 since 1971 and has been an active member of the branch since he joined. He has served on the Executive, Cadet Liaison Officer, Vice President, Entertainment Committee, Branch Bingo Committee and July 1st Bingo. He has also donated his time over the years for countless jobs such as setting up and decorating for special events, construction parties, renovations, selling tickets and was always ready to lend a hand at a moments notice. Mac has also been a member of the Evergreen Seniors for many years and has volunteered at the Friday Night Dances for over 20 years.


Mac was a very special man, always a smile and a kind word and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.


Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August, 16 at 2 pm at the Courtenay Legion, Upper Hall. Donations can be made in his memory, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C., 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6H 3V2
