PIERCY, Doris Louise


Born in 1928 in Montreal. Survived by her husband of 60 years Dr. George Piercy. Daughters Janyt Piercy (Tessera) Courtenay, Sharon Tieman (Garry) Delta, and son George Jr. (Darlene) Comox, plus 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.


Doris grew up in Montreal and attended McGill University where she met her husband, and graduated as a physiotherapist. She worked in physio at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, and was the department head at Cumberland for 15 years.


She was very active in community affairs throughout her life. She served as president of the Kinette Club, and on 2 occasions served as president of the Soroptimist Club of Courtenay. She was an active member of the Isis Club working for Shriner charities. As well as the above, she was a loving ad caring mother and grandma who adored her home and many friends.


There will be no funeral at her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Isis charities.
