SLAUGHTER, Doris Mae (nee Pearse)
Doris passed away peacefully on April 28, 2010. She was born in Cumberland on May 16, 1943. Doris was predeceased by her parents, Walter & Nellie and her brothers Ben & Gordie. She is survived and will be missed by her loving husband of almost 47 years, Bill, her daughters Krista (John) and Lisa (Kevin), granddaughters Lindsay & Stephanie, brothers Norm (Irene), Lorne (Maureen), Roy, sisters Nadine (Bob) & Phyllis (Ken) and many nieces and nephews.
Doris spoke fondly of her childhood years growing up in Happy Valley. She loved to travel, but one of her favourite places to be was on Hornby Island. Doris also loved spending time with her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
The family would like to pass along special thanks to Dr. Musgrave, Dr. Scovanick, **Phyllis Sanders, and all the nurses, care aides and staff at Comox Valley Senior Village for their support. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Doris' friends Colleen and Peggy for all of their help over the years.
There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
