DIXON, Dorothy Mary (Dot)
1917 - 2005
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Mary Dixon. She passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox B.C. on October 17th, 2005. Dorothy was born in Broadview, Saskatchewan on September 2nd, 1917, moving to Courtenay as a young child in 1920 with her family. She was a Charter Member and Past President of the Soroptimists in Courtenay. Dorothy is predeceased by her dearest husband Albert in 2004 and two sisters, Violet Whitehouse of Courtenay and Olive Jackson of Alberta. She will be greatly missed by her surviving sister, Pearl Walker of Nanaimo, her many nieces and nephews both here on the island and in Alberta, as well as all of her many dear friends in Courtenay. A Service of Remembrance will be held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY on Saturday, October 22nd, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Mr. Bruce Curtis officiating. Donations in Dot’s memory made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 1284, Comox, B.C. V9M 7Z8 would be appreciated.
