PITTS, DOROTHY JOAN
October 27, 1937 – April 20, 2008
Peacefully, with her children by her side, Joan passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008. Joan was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 49 years, John Andrew Pitts. She will be forever loved and missed by children (Laura (Bill), Lisa (Randy), Lesley (Dave) & John (Nadine), her grandchildren (Christy, Lyndsay, Brandon, Billy, Amanda and Andrew), and her great-grandchildren (Emily & Brayden) all who have cherished memories of a beautiful, wonderful, smart, funny and kind mother and nanny. She also leaves behind many friends across Canada and the United States, especially her ‘dearest and oldest’ friend, Sandra Weir of Ontario and her “best B.C. friend’, Linda Evans from Vernon, BC. Joan’s family would like to express their many thanks for the wonderful support and care of Dr. Ostrey, the nurses, home support and many volunteers who assisted Joan during her vigilant fight with cancer. At the request of Joan, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. In our hearts always, we will love you forever and always. Happy shopping in the big garage sale in the sky!
