Douglas Bryce Smith
Doug passed away on September 1, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox. He was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 24, 1927.
Doug worked for Bell Canada until 1979. He moved to Vancouver Island around 1995. In his earlier years he enjoyed sailing, fishing, photography, motorcycles, house building and leading scouts troops. Playing chess, golf, reading and travel occupied his time since coming to the island. Doug has a great sense of humor and lived on his own terms. He will be missed by his family and wide circle of friends. A special thanks to Dr. Swanson and the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Doug is survived by his daughter Cher Sprague, son in law Sam Coghlan, grandchildren Ananda and Caleb Sprague and great granddaughter Lily Sprague all of Ontario.
