Earl Almer Surgenor left this life on August 4, 2006 in Castlegar, B.C. where he had lived for the past 7 years. Earl was born on April 28, 1915 in the Rock Bay Mission Hospital, in Rock Bay north of Campbell River. Rock Bay was established as a logging town by the Hastings Company flourishing in the early part of the 20th century.
He shared his life and love with his wife of 67 years, Georgina, sons, Neil (Gwen), Lorne (Shirley), Everett (Laverne) and daughter, Gina (Dennis), nieces and nephews, cousins & friends, as well as a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children. A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at the Union Bay Community Church on Saturday, August 19th, 2006 at 1pm. Refreshments to follow in the upstairs of the Union Bay Community Hall.
