COMAR - Ellen, age 84, died peacefully at home June 9, 2009 after being sprung from the hospital by her husband and kids on May 27, 2009.
During her transition to the other side, Ellen was lovingly surrounded and supported by her husband Mickey of 66 years; her 6 children: Bev, Lynne, Janice, Ken, Gerry and Lolli; 3 of her grandchildren: Emma, Sophie and Rio; and close family friend Roger Gauthier.
Hardworking member and past-president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Courtenay Royal Canadian Legion, Ellen was probably most fondly remembered as "Mrs. C", much loved manager for many years of Goodwill Enterprisees.
Wise mother with a wild, saucy sense of humour, Ellen was a tough old broad who loved to make people laugh, was an avid fan of the Canucks, embraced new technologies, found great joy in solving crossword puzzles, made the best soups on the planet and most of all, adored her brood of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
