Martel - Ellen Dorothy Irene, aged 73, of Courtenay, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Extended Care Unit on Friday, April 25th, 2003. She is survived by her loving companion of 25 years, Chris Bayerle; her sons Kenneth and Robert Martel; her brother, The Reverend John Miller (Mary) of Calgary and her grandchildren Tara and Jared Martel. Ellen was predeceased by her first husband Louis and her brother William Miller. A Service of Remembrance was held from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, on Tuesday, April 29th, with Chaplain Gordon Carter officiating, followed by fellowship and refreshments in “The Garden Room” of the funeral home.
