Gibson, Ernest H.J. (Gib)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest (Gib) Gibson, aged 102 years, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. Gib was the last member of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police in Canada. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 62 years, Helen, and son Doug of Victoria. He also leaves to mourn his passing many relatives and friends in Alberta, Ontario, and the U.S.A. Gib touched many lives and we are richer for having had him with us for so many wonderful years. Gib retired in 1966 and moved to Comox where he resided until his passing.
A Memorial Service will be held at d’Esterre House, 1801 Beaufort Avenue, Comox, (of which Gib was a life member) on Sunday, January 25th, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to d’Esterre House or the Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated. PIERCY’S - MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME have been entrusted with arrangements.
