Passed away July 27, 2003 at The Richmond Hospital after a courageous struggle. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 59 years, Betty (Harrison); daughters: Sharon Calvert (John) of Steveston, and Janet Horn (Geoff) of Courtenay; and son Gary (Pitt Meadows); grandchildren: Terri Buter (Pierre), Linda Calvert (Darren Strang), and Steven Calvert (Marina) all of Steveston; John and Kim Horn (Courtenay); and Erik Finnsson (Pitt Meadows); great grandchildren: Josie and Quinn Buter; sister Margaret Finnsson (Marpole); and brother-in-law Pat Harrison (Lois) of Burnaby. Predeceased by his son Brian, parents and sisters Inga Brown and Dorothea Worley, and brother Harold Finnsson.
The world is a poorer place with his passing and he will be missed by those whose lives he touched; his many friends from aquasize, bridge, whist, and especially the Courtenay Prostate Support Group. He will forever be held dear to our hearts. Our grateful thanks to Dr. Naaykens and Dr. Berestein and the nursing staff of palliative home care. Please no cards or flowers. A celebration of Finn’s life will be held on Sunday, August 10 at noon at 6475 Rennie Road, Courtenay. 338-5291.
