Harrison (Young), Florence Ellen

Florence passed away peacefully in Glacier View Lodge after a long illness. She was predeceased by her brother Charlie, sisters Elizabeth and Edna, husbands Reg Young and Orald Harrison, a son and grandson. Florence is survived by sons Barry (Connie), Gerry (Patricia), granddaughters Jacqueline, Kelly, Victoria, and eight great-grandchildren.
Florence was born in Nakusp, BC. and grew up in Revelstoke, B.C. She married Reg Young in 1941 and they soon moved to Powell River, B.C. where Florence resided for 42 years before moving to the Comox Valley. After Reg passed away Florence married Orald Harrison who passed away in 1997. Florence attended Sprott-Shaw secretarial school in Vancouver and worked except when the children were young. She enjoyed her work a great deal and ultimately managed the office of a Powell River law firm.

A Service of Remembrance will take place from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Thursday, June 30th at 1:00 pm, with Mr. Lawrence Burns officiating. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in the “Garden Room and Outdoor Patio” of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8 with appreciation.
