It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a truly gentle and loving
woman after a long and eventful life. Predeceased by her husband G. Dudley in 1971, she is survived by her daughter Valerie Edwards, her grandsons Stephen (Kirsten), Eric (Shelley) and Christopher (Jenny), her great-grandchildren Ty, Liam, Cameron, Elly and Emily, Victoria cousins Joyce & Stan Bell and family, and Pat and John King and family, and many close friends. Born in Hull, Yorkshire, England, she immigrated to Canada in 1912 and settle with her family in Victoria. She married and raised her daughter there. She and Valerie moved to the Comox Valley in 1996 and enjoyed many happy days surrounded by her entire family. Florence passed away peacefully at home with the tremendous support of Dr. Anderson, the dedicated workers with Home Support Services and the Hospice Society, and the Day Care Program at Glacier View Lodge. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all that made Florence’s last days at home warm and peaceful. They ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation on behalf of Florence be made to either the Comox Valley Hospice Society or Glacier View Lodge. A Celebration of Florence’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home & Crematorium, Courtenay, B.C.
