Miller, Florence
May 18, 1920 – Feb. 16, 2008
Our loving wife and mother, Florence, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Feb. 16, 2008 at the age of 87. Florence is lovingly remembered by Carl, her husband of 64 years; her four daughters – Carolyn (Lorne) Laukkonen of Richmond, Jean (Terry) Lewis of Courtenay, Joan (John) Vogt of Prince George, and Ann (Bob) Herbert of Australia; and her five grandchildren (Dave, Rob, Mark, Trev and Sarah). She is also remembered by her siblings – Ruby (Cal) Chaffey of Edmonton, Ida Tabbert of Edmonton, and Elmer (Janet) Tabbert of Coquitlam, and their families.
Florence was born in Netherhill Saskatchewan and was raised in Brock. She married Carl, an RCAF navigator, in 1943 shortly before he served overseas. Florence lived in many mining towns across Canada before moving to Courtenay in 2004. Florence loved her family and enjoyed our numerous gatherings. She loved sewing, craftwork and collecting recipes.
A small family memorial will be held on Wed. Feb. 27. We would like to recognize the excellent care and compassion received from the 2nd floor staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Fund at St. Joseph’s Hospital would be welcomed.
