Born August 9, 1909 in Colfax, Washington, USA. Passed away October 6, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Extended Care Unit in Comox, BC at age 94.

She was predeceased by her husband Clifford after 63 years of marriage, her sister Grace Steens, and brother Henry Willis Brown.

She will be sadly missed by her eldest daugther Mildred (Don Fadenrecht) of Courtenay, BC., Daughter Yvonne (Jack Oster) of Surrey, BC, sister Arminda (Ed Beix) of Abbotsford, BC, granddaughter Susan (Tom Wall) of Port Alberni, BC, grandsons: Kenneth Fadenrecht of Williams Lake, BC and Jaimie Oster of Toronto, Ontario, two great granddaughters Keitha Fadenrecht and Emma Wall.

Frances lived a colorful life. During the depression she lived on a farm and broke saddle horses. She cooked in logging camps and during World War Two she cooked for the military in Dewinton, Alta., while Cliff served in the RCAF as Armourer Instructor. After the war they moved to New Westminster, BC and operated a sporting goods and gunsmith business. In 1952, they moved to Puntzi Lake in the Chilcotin. They built a resort there and operated it until 1966; a year later they built a house at Half Moon Bay. After her husband passed away she moved to Sechelt, she later moved to the Comox Valley to be near to family. By her own request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. There will be a family gathering at the home of Mildred and Don Fadenrecht. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM.
