Charlton - Franklin Burton “Frank” of Comox passed away peacefully in St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, age 92. Predeceased by his first wife Jessie and by his parents, three sisters and nine brothers. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis (they were married for 23 years); and by his sons: Ted (Charlane) Charlton of Black Creek, Michael (Diane) Charlton of Nanaimo, and Richard Charlton of Ontario; and by his daughters: Pat Martin of Prince George and Lynda (Victor) Gioia of Port Coquitlam; and by his stepson Phillip (Vera) Crowson of Victoria. He also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other family.


Frank retired to the Comox Valley with his wife Phyllis; he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and exercise with his dog, Susy, and his gardens and time with his family and his church friends. Special thanks to Al Pedersen and Lucille Thompson and his fishing partner Ralph Schmidt. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay with Pastor Bruce Schwindt officiating. Service will be followed by a gathering of friends in the “Garden Room” of the funeral home. Those wishing may make a donation to a charity of choice in Frank’s name with appreciation.
