BELL (BARR) - Freda
Freda, a resident of the Extended Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20th, 2006, aged 87. Predeceased by her husbands John Bell, Johnny Barr and brother Tom Moss, she is survived by her loving family, sons Jimmy (Gail) of Royston, Danny (Donna) of Richmond, Gary (Donna) of Courtenay, Terry (Sue) of Sydney, Australia and Robin (Sue) of London, Ontario; daughter Joan (Tom) Tantrum of Olds, Alberta; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and nephews Gary, Tom and Norman Moss. Freda was an active member of the Pythian Sisters, Canadian Daughters and the Christian Women’s Club, and will be remembered as a salesperson with Saans in Comox, Vera’s Fashion Fabrics and product promotion at Overwaitea. In her leisure, Freda was an outstanding gardener and her home on Comox Avenue was considered by many as a horticultural landmark. She enjoyed fashion modeling, traveling, socializing, singing and a good joke! Freda had a passion for baking for family and friends and raised 7 children with love.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, February 27th at 1:00 pm from Comox Valley funeral Home & Crematorium, 1101 Ryan Road, with Mr. Lawrence Burns officiating. Fellowship and refreshments in the Garden Room of the funeral home to follow. For those wishing, donations in her memory to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
