Grant, Frederick Ernest passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s hospital on December 11, 2007 with his family by his side.

He is predeceased by his parents Martha and William, wife Betty, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Lovingly remembered by 6 daughters: Diane (Danny) Tanaka; Irene (Mel) Bush; Norma Blake knox, Kathleen (Kelly) Kelly; Loraine (Brian) Forster and Patricia (Bruce) Campbell; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and his brother Frank Grant as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Prince Rupert raised in N. Vancouver he was always interested in electricity, he built his 1st shortwave radio at the age of ten. During his lifetime he had a variety of occupations, the main ones being logging and electrical contracting. He was the electrical engineer when the valley got its 1st radio station (CFCP) and was pivotal in the transition of the “Green Sheet” to computerization. His long life was a mosaic of adventures, risks, curiosity, and good times.

Special thanks to Dr. Reggler and staff @ St. Joe’s especially to Anna who was very understanding Shawna whose compassion at the end was appreciated; home support for all their care, enabling him to remain at his home so long.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Piercy’s Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
