Gordon Percy
March 28, 1933 – August 3, 2009
With great sadness we announce the passing of Gord Stewart on Monday, August 3rd, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, with his family by his side.
A Veteran of the Korean War, Gord served with the 2nd Battalion, PPCLI and RCAF and remained in the Air Force until 1974. He then worked for several years at the Elk Falls Mill until retiring.
Once an avid golfer, Gord enjoyed traveling and meeting friends with his wife, Muriel.
Gord is survived by his wife of 36 years, Muriel; stepson, Steve Hawkins (Judy); granddaughter, Emma Hayes; cousin, Mary (Don) all of Courtenay; Uncle Mitch (Fran) of Vernon, BC and many friends.
A Celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at Courtenay Fellowship Baptist church, 2963 Lake Trail Road, Courtenay on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 1:00 pm.
A donation may be made in Gord’s memory to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.
