STUART - Grover Hamilton of Courtenay, passed away suddenly at St. Joseph's General Hospital on Saturday, May 10, 2008, aged 83, in the presence of his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Grover Franklin Stuart, and Lillian Beatrice Stuart, and his wife Mary Ellen. Grover is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughters Teresa MacIntosh (Ken) of Winnipeg and Diane Stuart (Dirk Trigg) of Kamloops; son Wayne Stuart (Maryanne) of Nanaimo; grandchildren Michael, Shannon, Shaun, Adam, Sabrina, Merissa and Elysha, as well as great-grandchildren Alexander, Dakota and Ashton and his buddy Taz. He served proudly with the RCAF in both Canada and Europe, seeing service in England during World War Two. For many years Grover was well-known as manager of the Comox Valley Food Bank, was a longtime member of Branch 160, Royal Canadian Legion Comox and recently joined the Evergreen Seniors. In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, particularly camping, hunting and fishing and thoroughly enjoyed his many trips to Reno. A Service of Remembrance in celebration of Grover's life will take place from Branch 160, Comox Legion on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
