Jackson - Harry Edward, died on Friday 23rd August 2002, aged 88 years. Born in Stoke Golding, England, he immigrated with his wife and children to Canada in July, 1952, settling in Rossland, B.C.
Scientist, environmental consultant, naturalist, mineralogist, gardener, reader of books and solver of crosswords, he was a senior research chemist with Cominco in Trail until his retirement to Comox in 1979. For 63 years, Harry was beloved husband of Joan, father of Robert (Sandra), Pamela (Ken), Stephanie (Rudy), Christine and Michael (Carole); Grandad of Tony and Peter Jackson; Leah, Colin and Derek Dobell; Trevor and Eric van Dyk; Zoë Jackson and Tim Jackson; Great-grandad to Tia, Nicolas, Nathan, Floyd and Chloe.
A private family remembrance was held on Sunday, August 25th. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, B.C. V9M 1P2 would be appreciated.
