Harry Wetmore

January 27, 2006

Wetmore, Harry

With sadness we announce the passing of our dad Harry Wetmore on January 27th at the age of 90.

He was born in Kars, New Brunswick and joined the RCAF in 1940 where he served in the Air Common-wealth Training Plan. During his career he flew with 404 and 407 squadrons and with the Central Experimental Proving Establishment. Following retirement from the air force he worked for the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires.

Harry was predeceased by his wife Mary and his sisters Myrtle, Dell and brother Gord. He is survived by sons Frank, John and Michael; daughters Joan, Gina and Martha; grandchildren Andrew, Lindsay, Colby, David, Holly, Daniel, Amanda, Emily and Russell.

He loved the close company of his family and friends – we know that he is now reunited with his loving wife Mary.

Harry was notorious for a witty sense of humour. A gifted artist, he enjoyed oil painting, woodcarving, metal engraving and had several of his cartoons published. He loved the outdoors and was an active fisherman, canoeist and returned to his favourite past time of golf at age 80.

A Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chapel (19 Wing Comox) at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2006. A reception will be held at Parish hall after the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Our dad will be fondly remembered always with love and affection.
