Heather Isabel Amy, aged 56, of Courtenay, passed away peacefully with her husband Neil by her side, on Thursday, April 4th, 2002 after a brief illness. Heather was predeceased by her mother Kay and Father Laurence Winters and is survived by husband Neil; sons Laurence (Brenda) of Nanaimo, and Tyler (Janet) of Burnaby; grandchildren: Shenise and Presley, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.


Heather was born in Winnipeg on April 28th, 1945 and lived on Vancouver Island since 1974. She was a lifetime member of the Comox Valley Minor Hockey Association and was Minor Hockey Ice Controller for 12 years and was the Bingo Palace Queen. in her leisure, Heather enjoyed interior decorating, ceramics, painting, gardening and hockey. She will be remembered by customers of Happy’s Sports where she worked for 18 years, and Totem Stationary for 7 years. She was a strong person. Her love and ability to guide us will always be cherished.


A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of Heather’s Life will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 pm from the CHAPEL of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, followed by fellowship and refreshments in the upper hall, Florence Filberg Centre, Courtenay.
