Landroche - Henri Aimee “Hank”, born March 31st, 1924, passed away on December 23rd, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox. He was predeceased by Marguerite, and sister Berthe. Hank is survived by his wife Marion; his son Patrick (Susan Armstrong) Landroche of Courtenay; his daughter Alice (Brian) Buttnor of Courtenay; stepson Jim (Dorothy) Pudge of Simcoe, Ontario; grandchildren: Jackie, Danny, and Shannon; great grandchildren: Lyden and Erin.
Hank served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, Canadian Army, during World War Two and was a D-Day survivor. He worked with the Welland Fire Department after the war, and then re-enlisted to serve with the RCAF, retiring in 1970. Following his second retirement from the Forces he was a popular school bus and tour driver with Watson and Ash Transportation for 20 years. He drove 3 generations of children to school every day, and loved every one of them. Hank enjoyed traveling, and enjoyed many trips across Canada. A Celebration of Hank’s life will be held on Thursday, January 10th, 2002 at the Comox Legion, Branch #160 at 1:00 p.m. Comox Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, entrusted with arrangements.
