October 30, 1927 – February 2, 2009


Henry passed away peacefully on February 2, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Extended Care Unit after a lengthy illness.


He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by: his wife Alwena of 58 years, his sons Brian (Debra) and Barry (Cathy), daughter Angela (Kirley), his two grandchildren Briann and Brendan and by many family members and special friends. He is survived by his brother Ben and predeceased by his four brothers and three sisters.


Henry was born and raised in Arnaud, Manitoba to Mary and Jacob Stieben. He became a master carpenter and ran a successful construction business (K & S Builders) for 40 years. Henry was a perfectionist and tireless in his work, caring for his family and with his love of the beautiful gardens he created. He was also well known by all of his family, friends and neighbours for his generosity and willingness to help everyone.


Henry’s family would like to convey special thanks to Dr. Steve Millar, the staff of St. Joseph’s Extended Care Unit and the many friends and neighbours who spent so much time visiting and caring for Henry during his time of illness.


Please join our family for a celebration of Henry’s life which will be held at his home, 1275 Malahat Drive on Saturday, February 7 from 1:00 – 4:00pm.
