Herbert James Warriner

Herb passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 12:05 a.m. at the age of 88 years. He was born in Kamsack, SK and spent his first 7-8 years there with fond memories of Madge Lake. The family of 7 (and 2 dogs) made their way in 1937 to BC in their 1926 Model T. Herb grew up in the Courtenay/Cumberland area. He began work for Field’s Sawmill and eventually became a sawyer millwright superintendent. Herb was instrumental in the building of a sawmill in Langley, and a chipping plant in Campbell River before he retired at the age of 69. Herb loved to golf and fish in his spare time. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, son Rodney, infant daughter Tamara, parents, brother Ward (Margaret), sisters Doreen (Frank) Ovington and Edna (Al) Friesen. Herb will be lovingly remembered by his sons Les (Linda), Brent (Cathy), and Cliff (Esther); sisters Nadine Beitel, Kay Beech, Davina Heblom and Roberta (Bruce) Douglas as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Living Waters Fellowship Church (2222 Regent Rd. in Black Creek, BC).
