KNIGHT

I. J. (Irving)

February 3, 1933 - May 23, 2007

I. J. was a long-time teacher at Vanier & Highland Sec., and will be well-remembered for his infamous “River Run”, Mt. Albert-Edward hikes, killer dodge ball, and coaching many soccer & volleyball teams. He spent many years playing Men’s Fastball, and then hung up his cleats & embraced tennis & golf. I. J. was a lover of the outdoors, and spent much of his retirement years fishing (with Art Limber), camping, playing tennis & golf, and spending time with family, friends and his 11 grandchildren.

All who met I. J. will remember his sense of humor, limitless energy and his love for meeting at Tim Horton’s.

I.J. will be lovingly remembered by: wife, Shirley (of 50 years); brother, Ron (Alice) and nieces and nephews; sons, Steve (Sharon ) & Gary (Cathy), and daughter, Lori (Dave Lee). I. J. spent many fun-loving times with his grandchildren: Melissa & Kirsti Knight; Amber, Shannon & Danica Knight; Jodie, Cory & Bonnie Hendriks; Lindsay, Connor & Kira Lee.

Many thanks to Dr. Millar & Dr. Engman, the Palliative Home Care Nurses, Tim, Wendy & The Medicine Shoppe staff, and all our supportive family & friends.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life on June 10, 2007 @ 1:00-3:00 p.m., Comox d’Esterre House, 1801 Beaufort Ave.
