FLANDERS
The Flanders family is deeply saddened and heartbroken to announce the passing of their beloved Jacob. Jacob passed due to multiple organ failure and complications of pneumonia at St. Joseph Hospital in Comox at 3:23 am on Friday the 1st of February 2008.
Jake's smile could light up a room and warm the coldest heart. He always had a warm hug and gave unconditional love to everyone he knew. He showed you that there were no obstacles you couldn't overcome. Jake always saw the best in those around him. Jake will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. Our world was made brighter by his presence and his memory will continue to brighten our futures!!!

Jake is survived by Great-grandmother Edna, Grandparents George and Florence, Mom Darlene, Dad Dale, Brother Jeremy, Uncle Louis and his sons James and Erik, and numerous extended family members.
Jake enjoyed spending time with his instructors and friends in the Life Skills Program at Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School. His favorite hobbies included chasing people in his wheelchair and walker. He loved playing with his favorite toys; Scooby Doo, Dave the Pickle from Veggie Tales and sitting on the sofa watching videos and Sesame Street with his parents. Pushing buttons on the television and pulling the knobs off the stereo. Viewing and visitation will take place from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 at 12:00 noon. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Jake's life beginning at 1:00 p.m. A reception in the "Garden Room" of the funeral home will follow.
The family request in lieu of flowers make a donation in Jacob's name to the Cerebral Palsy Society, The Shriners, or Pythian Organization.
