Jim was born in Vancouver, BC. He is survived by his loving wife Ethel and sons John (Lynda), Kenneth (Stella) and grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Kaare and Kyle of Kelowna, BC, also by his brother Douglas and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan, sister Nancy and brothers Dan, Bill and Jack.

Jim worked for a time at the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company in Trail, BC. He then joined the R.C.A.F. and served during World War Two. Upon discharge he moved to Prince Rupert where he went into the Real Estate and Insurance business, owning the firm of Armstrong Agencies Ltd. In 1978 he retired to Comox, BC and there enjoyed his favorite sport of golfing. Jim had a good long life with the loving support of his wife, family and many wonderful friends.

Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Tancon and to the kind and caring staff of the Ocean View Manor and St. Joseph’s third floor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Piercy’s – Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Ave. Courtenay.
