After a brief, but valiant fight with cancer, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Herbert Stanley (1990) of Courtenay; and brother Bill Drysdale (2003) of Ontario. Survived and dearly missed by her children: Nancy Dyke (George) of Courtenay, Robert James (RJ) White of Red Deer, AB, and Joni White of Nanaimo; granddaughter Debbie (Wayne) Hatch, great grandsons Robbie, Brandon and Jordan, Royston; granddaughter Trisha Delaney, great granddaughter Taylor of Edmonton, AB.

Jane was born in Cleveland, Ohio, grew up in Ontario where she met and married Herb White (1940) who was enlisted in the Air Force. After a 30 year career living in Ontario, Alberta, Germany, Manitoba, and retiring in Calgary in 1970 with the last move to Courtenay in 1983, where they enjoyed their lives as members of Sunnydale Golf Course. Jane’s sense of humour was appreciated by all who knew and loved her.

Heartfelt thanks to the 3rd Floor Nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dr. McFarland, Dr. Tien and Dr. Davyduke. Special thanks from the family to neighbour Tom for his help and caring towards Mom.

A Memorial Service will be held at Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 1:00 PM. Please join us after the service for a Celebration of Life at the Elks Club for light refreshment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. PIERCY’S-MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME have been entrusted with arrangements.
