Janet (Jan) Ramsey Bush
1928 - 2009
Jan died peacefully April 24th, 2009. She will be remembered by her husband, Jack of 52 years, her son Robert, her daughter Kelly and her grandchildren Julia, Hamilton, Aislynn, and many friends in the Comox Valley and worldwide. Jan was a woman of substance born in Kerang, Australia. She grew up in Vancouver, BC where she obtained her Physical Education degree and her Masters Degree from UBC. She taught with enthusiasm for many years at Secondary schools, UBC, and volunteered at Elder College in Comox where she founded a writer's co-op class. Her poetry was published in "A Murder of Crones" and she was often making oral presentations. She was an outstanding athlete in her youth in field hockey, basketball, and tennis. A brilliant and sensitive woman and early feminist; she will be remembered walking the beach at Little River with her sketchpad or her palate painting.
A Celebration of her life will be held May 9th at the family home at 1270 Mayfair Rd., Comox at noon and as Jan said, "When the Irish Whiskey runs out you can go home and hug someone because they aren't going to be there forever."
