Hastings, Jessie Porteous
Passed away peacefully, with her family beside her, at St. Joseph’s Hospital E.C.U., Comox, BC, Saturday, January 25th, 2003 in her 89th year. Jessie joins her loving husband Arthur (June 1966), and son Raymond (April 1936) to be with the Lord.
She will be sadly missed by son Donald (Patricia), 3 grandchildren: Shane, Cary (Lori) Hastings, Mishell (Les) Parsons, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 1 loving sister Lavina McGee, many nieces and nephews.
Jessie was predeceased by 3 sisters: Fan Marwick, Cass Ion, Jane Jones and 1 brothers James Stewart.
She was born and raised in Nanaimo, BC, met and married Art, lived 1st in Fanny Bay and then Union Bay where they owned Union Bay Shell Station until Arts death in 1966. In the early days she enjoyed camping and fishing at Kitty Coleman & Bennetts Point, and later became an avid golfer at Sunnydale.
