February 19, 1936 – March 11, 2017The family of Jack Casey are sad to announce his passing on March 11th, 2017 at his home in Courtenay. Jack is predeceased by his parents Frances and John; brothers Fred, Kevin, Bill, and Edward and his sisters Mary and Betty. He leaves behind to mourn his loving wife Barbara; brothers, Mike, Herbert; sons Robert (Mary), Peter (Tina), daughter Susan (Gaby); grandchildren Jon, Michael, Maggie, Nadia, Lily, Liam, Casey, Lauren.

Jack was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and although he left the “rock” at age 21 he was always a proud Newfoundlander. He served for 33 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and retired to the Comox Valley in 1992. In his leisure, he enjoyed salmon fishing, bowling, playing cards and camping with his many friends along the coast of Vancouver Island. Jack was a loving husband, brother, father, uncle and grandfather who was adored by his family. His sense of humour, gracious disposition and devotion to his family and friends made "Jackie" a man loved by all. A true gentleman who will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cumberland Dialysis Center, Drs. Thompson, Glick, and MacPherson and the Comox Valley Home and Community Care personnel.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in his memory to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Courtenay on Friday, March 17th, at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow in the church hall.
