John Kitzan passed away peacefully November 30th, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, aged 69 years. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, his brothers Alex and Andrew, and sister Sophie. He is survived by his brothers: George (Olga), Steve (Lil), Bill (Mary), Metro (Dot), Daniel (Stella), and his sisters: Bessie (John), Victoria (Ken), Anne (Wally), as well as several nieces and nephews. John served with the Princess Patricia Light Infantry for nine years and during his service he was awarded a peacekeeping medal and obtained his paratrooper wings. He left the military and went to work at Utah Mines in Coal Harbour before moving to Merville where he worked as a groundskeeper at Sunnydale Golf Course until his retirement. A Celebration of Life Service in Remembrance of John Kitzan will be held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Thursday, December 4th, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
