Randles, John
April 7, 1928 - August 14, 2008
It is with deep regret and sadness that family and close friends announce the peaceful passing of John Randles at the age of 80.
John leaves behind Catherine, his loving and devoted wife of 59 years; daughter Kathleen (George) and grandchildren Jason, Michael and Timothy McDonald of Winnipeg; Daughter-in-law Margo and grandchildren Mandy, Devon and Morgan Randles; and six great grandsons.
Predeceased by son, Stephen, sister Nancy and brothers Ron and Joe.
John was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, England and immigrated with his family to Winnipeg, in 1965. In 1974 John and Catherine moved to Vancouver Island and settled in Comox for the past 15 years. As a painter and decorator most of his life, John was known as owner/operator of Trent Decorating in the Comox Valley before his retirement. His many passions and proficiencies included golf, dancing, darts, fishing and of course travels to many parts of the world.
We wish to thank Dr. Susan Hunter and Dr. Stephen Lundy for their kind and compassionate care, as well as the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital. Thanks also to special friends Ellen Clarke, Doris Smith, residents of the 107 Strata, and the lovely ladies of St. Joe's Volunteers.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
