Late of Fanny Bay, BC, born Arlee, Saskatchewan; predeceased by first wife Lillian, parents M.R. & E.J. Currie, brother William, sisters: Rita, Eilen, Ethel. Survived by brothers: Rod & Ken, sister Joyce, sons: Steven and John Jr, two grandsons: Tarl and Dain, many nieces and nephews, second wife Shirley, brother-in-law George Michel, stepchildren: Linda, Laura, Lisa, Lenny and Nancy. The family moved to coastal B.C. 1937, landing in White Rock. Shortly there­after the family moved to North Vancouver where John grew up attending Queen Mary Elementary, then North Van High. He fished, logged, built boats and sawmills. He worked at several trades. Married first in 1953, widowed 1955, one son Steven. Married 1969 to Shirley, second son John. Moved boat building business and oldest son to mid Vancouver Island 1971, first Comox, Union Bay, Parksville and finally back to Fanny Bay.


John was an entrepreneur and educator. Always trying to build a better mousetrap and pass the knowledge on, especially to children. He will be missed by all.


A Moving On Get Together will happen at Arrowsmith Hall, Ford Road, Coombs, BC on Saturday, November 18th, 2006 at 1:00pm,
