MARKS - Joseph Eugene Gerald "Jerry" of Comox, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, May 3, 2010, aged 75. Born in Sackville, New Brunswick on August 18, 1934.


He was predeceased by his father Earl in 1989 and his mother Eva in 1999 he is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Fran: sons Glen (Sue) of Surrey and Jim (Tammy) of Comox; daughters Susie McKay of Fredericton, N.B. and Debra (Guy) Facey of Courtenay; grandchildren Kay, Tammy, Courtnay, Jamie, Erin, Tylor and Ashley; great grandchildren Haley, Brittany, Hayden, Darren, Ava, Chayse and Christian; 7 brothers, Earl, Larry, Eugene, Charlie, Norman, David, Dale and families; 6 sisters, Clara, Reta, Margaret-Ann, Marilyn, Mary, Darlene and families, as well as many nieces and nephews.


Jerry served in the RCAF and CAf for 28 1/2 years, worked at HMCS Quadra and as a mechanic at Comox Golf Course, following his retirement from the armed forces. He was a member of the Comox Legion for 33 years. In his leisure, he loved reading, fishing and camping with family and friends, but his special joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.


A gathering in celebration of Jerry's life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday May 8th from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road with Father Paul Murphy officiating, with a reception to follow in "The Garden Room" of the funeral home. For those who wish to honour his memory with a donation, the family asks that consideration be given to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102-1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 2K6 or a charity of choice.
