Joe Neuhauser passed away at the age of 81 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, B.C. on July 5, 2008. Predeceased by his wife Kati, he is survived by his children Alex (Kathy), Theresia Caouette, Theo (Ella), nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joe was born June 13, 1927 in Holzkirchen, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1950. Joe and Kati moved to Black Creek, Vancouver Island in 1951 where he worked as a logger until 1964. He then took chef training in the Nanaimo Vocational School and worked as a chef at the Comox Airport. Widowed in 1985, he retired in 1987. Joe enjoyed woodworking and making his land beautiful with flower beds, shrubs and fruit trees. In later years, he loved to travel back to Germany, and to many other destinations around the world. At home, he took up bowling as a hobby and became quite good at this game. He loved eating out and going for walks.
The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Black Creek M.B. Church, interment followed at the Black Creek Cemetery.
