Karen of Courtenay, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at St. Joseph’s General Hospital. Predeceased by her son Jimmy; father Paul; and sisters Maureen and Pat. Karen is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband Jim; daughter Gail (Stan) Herman; grandsons Lou and Paul; brothers Roy (Sandy) Bohn and Bill (Ina) Bohn, both of Gold River; sister Pauline Barry of Campbell River; mother Lilian and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her Swedish “daughter” Monica and her best friend Rose. Karen will be missed as well by her dogs “Bill” and “Morris” and her cat “Viska”. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and babysitting them whenever she could. Karen had a zest for life, loved people and getting enthusiastically involved in whatever interested her. A Gathering of family and friends in celebration of her life will take place from the Courtenay Fish and Game Club, Comox Lake on Tuesday, July 26th at 2 pm. COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, entrusted with arrangements. Should friends wish, donations in Karen’s memory to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
