EVANS, KATHLEEN BERTHA (nee Foxgord)

December 3, 1916 – March 8, 2010

On a beautiful spring day, after a long and well lived life, Kay slipped into the waiting arms of her Lord.

Born in Victoria B.C., she was the oldest child and only daughter of Kathleen Olive Foxgord (Hollins) and Leslie

DeLesseps Foxgord. She was raised in Victoria, completing high school and holding several jobs until she became the

credit manager for Mac and Mac’s. In 1945 she married Owen Hamilton Evans and they soon moved to Gabriola Island and ran Anderson Lodge resort. In 1949 they joined the lighthouse service, living on Sisters and Trial Islands. They moved back to Victoria in 1956 and Kay worked

in the Income Tax offi ce for a number of years. After some years of retirement in Victoria, they moved to Comox in 1983 to be closer to their grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Owen, brothers Bobby, John, and sister-in-law, Georgia. She is

lovingly remembered by her daughter Kathleen (Katey) Isenor (Comox), her son Michael Evans (Burnaby). Grand

children Cameron (Kim) Isenor (North Vancouver), Kathryn Isenor (Victoria), and Andrew (Sara) Isenor (Comox),

her much loved great grand children, Emma, Owen and Noah, her brother Alf Foxgord, sister-in-law, Norma Foxgord, special granddaughter Colleen Eschner

and family, nieces and nephew, former son-in-law, Jack Isenor. and her extended church family.

Kay was an active member of the church all her life, involved in Emmanuel Baptist in Victoria, and later Comox

United and Bay Community in Comox.

She loved gardening, music, reading, and her family. She also loved travelling and in her 70’s and 80’s made several trips to the British Isles, Australia and New Zealand,

as well as cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal.

Kay met the challenges of life with strength, dignity and incredible grace. Her loving, positive and supportive nature touched all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held Sat. March 13th at 2;00pm at Bay Community Church, 1105 Pritchard Rd., Comox.
