Laura Jean
April 18, 1916 - February 22, 2007
After a year long battle with the dreaded cancer, Laura passed away quietly at Cumberland Lodge just a month short of her 91st birthday with family by her side. She was predeceased by her first husband Ed Everett and her second husband Ken Hammett. She leaves behind her sons Ed and Vince, her daughters Anita and Elaine, daughters-in-law Sherry and Michelle, son-in-law Lorne and their families. She was very proud of the fact that she had 23 “direct offspring”: children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, love of all the arts, fabulous paintings and great craft work.
There will be no funeral at her request but a gathering of family and friends will be held at a date to be announced later.
We wish to thank all the staff at both St. Joseph’s 3rd Floor and Cumberland Lodge, as well as the Hospice Society for their great care during Mum’s illness. You are absolutely wonderful!!!
