LAWRENCE “LARRY” ZIEGLER

November 11,1926- December 15, 2014

Larry always said he lived for the summers of his life and with winter solstice fast approaching, he died peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 15, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Comox, B.C.

Born Nov. 11. 1926 in Waterloo, Ontario he was the youngest son of Winnifred and Karl Ziegler. Besides his parents Larry was pre-deceased by his older brother Eric Ziegler in 1992. Left to mourn his death are nephews Bud Ziegler (Norma) of Duncan. B.C. and Michael Ziegler (Victoria) of Victoria, B.C. as well as 2 generations of nieces and nephews.

Larry was a veteran of the second world war. He enrolled as a young man in the Royal Canadian Artillery. Following the war he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Airforce which became his life time career. Following his retirement he moved in 1975 to Comox, B.C. a town he loved dearly.

Larry was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Comox Branch 160. From a young age he was very interested in automobiles, especially sports cars and was a member of the Comox Valley Classic Car Club.

Larry had a passion for travel and seeing the world. So on this your final Journey Uncle Larry, may you fly high to the heavens above, warm in the arms of the Lord.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation or funeral by request. Burial to take place in the family plot in London, Ontario.
