Lee (Leland) Jay Cochran

Born September 23, 1948

Died August 29th, 2010

It is with a deep sadness that Lee left us so suddenly and so soon. Lee was born and grew up in Campbell River and then spent time on Saltspring Island working as a line man and supervisor with B.C. Hydro until retirement. Lee had many loves and achievements; to each one he gave his utmost best. He was the youngest person at the Campbell River Flight School to get his flight wings and he so enjoyed flying. He rebuilt many cars which he loved racing. He also raced sailboats; his most favorite ones were Bodacious and Impatience.

But most of all, we will remember Lee for his three great loves; life, family and friends. His wonderful storytelling was proof of that. Lee is survived and will be so missed by his wife and friend Mary, his son Todd (Karen) and grandson Wyatt, sisters Diane, Darlene (Murray) and brother Marty (Karen) and his very faithful friend and dog Paisley.

A Celebration of Leland’s life will take place on Saturday, September 11th at 2:00 pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road. Should friends wish, donations in his memory to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
