Lorna Usilla SPARKS

June 28, 1917 ~ February 28, 2007

Lorna passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, her loving daughter Sandra and her husband Steve, son Rodger and his wife Marilyn, at Glacier View Lodge. Lorna was a constant inspiration to all who knew her. She was a woman with a keen sense of humour, who’s ready smiles were a delight to all who knew her.

Lorna was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to William and Edith Boles. She was predeceased by her husband Roland and her two sisters, Elinore and Eilleen. The three sisters were very close. Lorna is survived by her loving daughter Sandra, her son Rodger, her granddaughters Samantha and Alena, her grandsons Matthew and Ryan, her great-granddaughters Emily, Molly, Ashley, and her great-grandson Gavin. Lorna and Rol moved to Burnaby, BC after the war and remained there to bring up Sandy and Rodger. During those years they were constant companions to their granddaughter Samantha and her family. Lorna and Rol started a window display company there, RJ Sparks and Company and become well known by merchants from Vancouver to Winnipeg.

Lorna loved Winnipeg and stayed in touch with her sisters and many nieces and nephews there. They were and are to this day a prominent family in Winnipeg. The Logan family, who have contributed their professional skills to that community for many years. She remained in contact with them throughout her life, her heart was always in Winnipeg, she and Rol visited often. Her family has travelled and worked all over the globe from Bombay to Warsaw and Ottawa to Africa as volunteers and professionals.

We will all meet again, no doubt. Our love goes with her on her new adventure… as her love went with all of us on ours.

There was a small service at Mission Hill on Monday, March 5 at 2 pm, Brian Ducedre officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD.
