LUCAS, Margaret Jeffrey
1929 ~ 2005
Margaret Jeffrey passed away peacefully in Vancouver on February 11, 2005. Predeceased by her parents John and Florence Jeffrey, husband Fred Lucas and sister and brother-in-law Helen and Wells Hooker. She leaves her dear son Richard in Vancouver, her brothers James (Shirley Mae) of Peachland, and John (Ray) of Colwood and her nieces and nephews.
Born in 1929, she was a proud 1947 grad of Comox High and also leaves her dear friends of those growing up years, namely Val, June, Marion, Elaine and Nettie, her chums from “the pool”, the Dragonboat, and her “old-girls” lunch-bunch. She returned to her Comox roots in 1989 and was never sorry to have come back to many friends and activities after 39 years away. There will be no service by request, but she asked for a memorial gathering to take place this summer at “the cottage” in Point Roberts. She hoped that those who wished to make a donation in her memory would sponsor her niece in the 2005 “Weekend To End Breast Cancer” (Gayle Den Otter #51792-2), or directly support the BC Cancer Foundation.
