RANDALL

Marie

1921 - 2009

Born Marie Deptuck in Prudhomme, Saskatchewan, Marie passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on June 29, 2009.

Marie is predeceased by her husband Roy, her parents Michael and Caroline Deptuck and her eight siblings. Marie is survived by her daughter Barbra, son Edvin, grandson Steven and his wife Kelly, granddaughter Carly and her great grandchildren Taig and Taylor. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Deptuck, and her nieces and nephews.

After a childhood spent on the Prairies, Marie made her way to Vancouver where, while working at Scotts Café, she met her future husband Roy. Roy and Marie were married on July 24, 1945. They spent their early married life in the Queen Charlottes and moved to Courtenay in 1947.

For the past 30+ years Marie was a volunteer at the Evergreen Seniors Club - it was her life! She rarely missed Monday Night Whist, the Pancake Breakfasts, Mystery Trips or the bus trips to the Casino. Marie also competed in whist at the B.C. Senior Games.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Reggler for his care of Marie as well as the nurses and staff of the emergency ward, and second and third floors at St. Joseph's. A special thanks to all Marie's friends who took the time to visit her during her hospital stay.

Should friends wish, donations may be made in Marie's name to the Evergreen Seniors Building Fund, 411 Anderton Avenue, Courtenay, B.C., V9N 6C6.

A Celebration of Life (tea & refreshments) will be held at the Conference Hall Florence Filberg Centre on Saturday, July 18th at 1:00 p.m.
