passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2017 in Comox, BC at age 93. Marie was born in Cumberland Chinatown on April 12, 1924. Marie was one of the last Chinese pioneers born in Cumberland Chinatown and had remained in the Comox Valley her entire life.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Charles Chung Foo Lowe, granddaughter Christina Lowe and son-in-law Ken Kamoto.
She will be lovingly remembered by her 5 children: Gloria Okamoto, Sharon Lee (Norm), Mavis Chow (Gord), Raymond (Michelle Bowen) and Doug.
Marie was blessed and remembered by her 16 grandchildren: Brent, Sandra, Marianne, Allan, Tracy, Leslie, Natasha, Michael, John, Alexandra, Victoria, Matthew, Amanda, Martin and step children Jeff and Michael; 5 great grandchildren: Jake, Kaitlin, Amber, Emmerson and Emma.
Marie will be lovingly remembered by many Comox Valley pioneers and extended family and friends.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 2:30pm on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, BC, with a reception to follow.
