Marjorie Agnes Clark

Clark - Marjorie Agnes, passed into the presence of her Lord on April 6th, 2003 at the age of 91. Marjorie was born July 15th, 1911 to Walter and Agnes Rigler in Poole, Dorset, England. The family emigrated to B.C. and settled in Courtenay when she was eight.

She is survived by her loving son Jim (Heather); 3 grandchildren, Graeme, Shauna and Meredith; a sister Barbara McAllister; nieces Gwen (Rick) Cromer, Joy (Dale) Carter, and nephews Rob McAllister and Rick (Sandy) McAllister. She was predeceased by both her father and mother, sister Joy and brother-in-law Robert McAllister.

Marjorie worked for years at the Royal Bank, Argus newspaper, staff writer for Moody Institute of Science in Los Angeles, and also served as a missionary in Angola.

Marjorie has lived in the §Comox Valley most of her life where she has been involved with Elim Chapel, Christian Women’s Club, and the local writer’s club. She found extreme joy in serving her Lord and Saviour, gardening and cookery. She is also a published authoress.

A Memorial Service will be held at Courtenay Foursquare Gospel Church, 1640 Burgess Road, on Thursday, April 10th, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marjorie’s name to Imadene Foundation, 986 Clatworthy Avenue, Victoria, BC V8X 3N6. PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME have been entrusted with arrangements.
