ZDEBIAK, Mark William

September 24, 1974 - February 19, 2010

Born in Sechelt, BC.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mark Zdebiak.  Mark was taken from us in a tragic industrial accident on February 19th, at a logging operation off the west coast of the Island.  Being around logging trucks his whole life, he was a skilled and experienced truck driver who knew and respected the dangers of the job.

Mark was a kind, gentle man with a dry and witty sense of humour.  He loved and was deeply loved by his family - his mother Doris of Comox, his father Bill of Port Alberni and his sister Leanne, her husband Ben Zion Eni and their daughter Livia, his grandma Anne Zdebiak, as well as his cousins, aunts and uncles.  Mark will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Mandy Prowse.  Their cats, their dogs, good Scotch and Nascar - these were the ingredients for cozy Sunday afternoons for Mandy and Mark. Mark grew up in the Comox Valley and will be fondly remembered by his friends and all who knew him.  He truly was a gentle man.

Funeral services will take place Thursday March 4th, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1599 Tunner Drive, Courtenay at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, pour yourself a finger of good malt scotch and drink a toast to Mark, then make a donation to the Comox Valley SPCA, or the charity of your choice.
